From Physics to Product Decisions

A digital twin is most valuable when it helps answer practical questions before expensive prototypes, field trials or product changes are made. My simulation work connects material properties and module architecture with real operating environments and measurable performance.

⌁

Material & Spectral Modeling

Spectral-dependent optical and electrical loss analysis can quantify reflected light, useful electrical output and heat generation across different material stacks and operating spectra—not only at STC.

▦

Module & System Digital Twins

Physics-based models represent interconnections, cell layouts, bypass concepts, module construction and operating conditions so alternative product concepts can be compared virtually before or alongside testing.

↗

Scenario & Yield Simulation

Site- and application-specific simulations evaluate how designs behave under shading, vertical bifacial operation, desert stressors and other non-standard conditions, turning technical differences into energy-yield and business impact.

PV module research and characterization laboratory
Simulation is combined with measurement and validation: models become decision tools when their assumptions and outputs are continuously challenged against physical PV modules and field behavior.

Research Foundations

Selected peer-reviewed work showing how simulation has been used across my research—from material-level optical and electrical losses to desert module optimization and application-specific digital twins.

2026 · Renewable Energy

Digital twin for vertical bifacial PV and self-shading

A Python–SPICE simulation model evaluates shading from junction boxes, cables and frames in vertical bifacial modules. It compares a redesigned module against a standard half-cell architecture and predicts location-dependent energy-yield impact.

SegmentPV · Shade-resistant PV

Digital-twin thinking for segmented modules and partial shading

The same methodology extends naturally to segmented and shade-resistant PV: represent electrical topology, shaded cells or groups, bypass behavior and environmental scenarios, then predict module/system response before validating it with indoor and outdoor measurements.
